If you like Port wines, and chocolate and/or dessert!

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Good day all,

For those who have experienced the Food Guy/Wine Guy combination of my goomba Chef Al Paris and myself, I am/we are about to do some things again.  I am working on starting a small creative agency focused on the wine and spirits industry, and I already have several brands in mind.  In this endeavor, I have already recruited a photographer, a graphic artist and several models; for the video end, I just got my Director of Photography.

Currently, I am looking for people for a nice Port tasting in which you'll taste at least four aged tawny ports, possibly a white port and maybe another port.  I might even throw in a Madeira.  We'll take your photo and record your words on the experience as well.  And then, we'll add it to the website dealing with that.  If we charge (hey, this wine costs some money and then there is the food), it won't be over $30 per person.  Just go into any restaurant and look at the cost for a twenty year old port and you'll realize that already you're saving a bit.  We haven't decided on whether we'll be shooting in a restaurant or the studio for this one, but we're moving ahead with this.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.

We welcome your comments and suggestions. Please click here to send us an e-mail.
