The wine tasting is moved to 5/27

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Okay,

The restaurant is closed today because it's changing part of the ownership and the one partner (the chef) forgot about the event. I could give you a great cover alibi, but that's it. I just got off of the phone with him maybe five minutes ago. I could open the restaurant myself, but there will be no kitchen or waitstaff there today.

We were going to look at moving it over to NXNW, but they have an event tonight at the same time, and there is nowhere else to move it to easily on such short notice.

Therefore, I am moving the date to 5/27. Same time and place [unless the majority of you want to make it Saturday afternoon].

So, as he has to really make this one up to me, I will try to get something like free appetizers for next week, and I will add a couple more wines as well.

That's about it. And I was looking forward to seeing some of your faces tonight.

P.S. Know that I am definitely downing a bottle of vino tonight.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
