Sometimes you want to treat yourself and sometimes you really should know better.  I couldn't remember if I had this wine before, but I said what the hell and tried it.  It is made of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon. 28% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 4% Syrah, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec.

I was expecting a lovely Bordeaux style flair [with the exception of the Syrah, but Spanish Syrahs have tickled my fancy as of late] but I didn't get it.  I think that this wine has literally too much Petit Verdot, which has smoked over the essence of this wine.  I would like to say that I could discern dark fruits and spice, but alas, I cannot.  The color is great, and the rest that I get from this wine is leather and tobacco.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
