One of my favorite wines is Lapis Luna's Romanza,
which is a lovely blend of Zinfandel and Sangiovese. I have
had their Merlot, and I have had their Petit Verdot, and
maybe a couple other red varietals like their Cab Sauv.
However, I do believe that this is the first time that I
have tried one of their white wines.
This wine is phenomenal, bursting forth with a melange of
decadent flavors. What is most interesting is that it is
100% Chardonnay; no other varietals are mixed in (take that
Kendall Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chard). I taste
honeysuckle, passionfruit and melons, with maybe even some
pineapple in their. Other people have written about
pineapple and butterscotch. Hey, different folks taste
different things.
The body is between medium and light, and when you take
in the wine, you're given a nice dose of exotic citrus and
tempered acidity which cascades down gently into what I
would call a buttery finish.
This is a great wine!
