Another crappy Pennsylvania offering (but
don't get this confused because Penns Woods and Chadds
Ford, among others, make a fine wine), I went to this
bottle after being disgusted with the Rose Bank Winery
offering.
I don't know, maybe it's a sign when
someone labels a chardonnay as a white table wine.
Upon opening the bottle, I was assaulted
with an interesting smell, to say the least, which I was
not enamoured of, but I gave it a chance. I figured that
maybe one of the smells and flavours was that of mango,
which is one fruit which I definitely can't stand.
And maybe it was mango, and maybe that was
the reason that I didn't like it, because you do actually
taste through your nose. Their website gives this
description of it:
Dry, complex white wine with lots of toasty oak.
Aromas of vanilla, butterscotch and apples complement a
full, round mouth with a long finish.
I found it none of that, but only slightly
bearable. Not enough to make me want to even finish my
glass.
My only advice is that if you like
different tastes, and there are people that do, then this
might appeal to you, otherwise, I'd try something else that
they offer.
Oh, and to give them a chance, I am going
to drive up and check out their other offerings.
