At my last foray over to Canal's, I wound up picking up this bottle of Gentil wine, thinking that is was a varietal that I haven't had before, but alas, it is actually the combination of several varietals (Gerwurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat and Sylvaner). This wine contains the flavors of peach, pear and apricot, cut with a nice interesting muting of Sylvaner (taste Sylvaner and you'll understand)

This wine is not too strong in any of it's flavors, but not something that should go with any dish. I would see it as best with poultry and wild fowl, but not any meats. Freshly cut veggies, cheeses and also maybe some cured meats would also be great with this.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
