I first came across this wine at a tasting for Terranova Wines over at Cafe Lamberti a couple of months ago, but me being at a tasting and sitting down and writing a review is a totally different things, so I acked Ottavio about tasting the wines at a different time.

Happy Tails is a humanitarian effort with proceeds from each bottle sold at a retail outlet going to the SPCA that services that zip code in which it was bought.

This wine is a nice, somewhat dry white which is composed of 70% Malvasia Bianca and 30% Chardonnay. I detect a little bit of green apple in the flavor which is probably mainly from the Malvasia grape, but the overall texture smoothes out to an almost silk feel; actually more like satin sheets. Reminding me of a flavorful Pinot Grigio, this wine would actually be great with fruits, cheeses, salads and seafood. It has a little bit more depth than a Sancerre, but has an equal amount of dry and wet that should suit most palates.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
