44% Shiraz, 37% Cab, 10% Merlot and 9% Malbec; what mad scientist came up with this one?

The first thing that I noticed was the deep inky purple color of the wine. I didn't, or wasn't, able to get a smell from it, but blame that on the glass that I was using. But is was the taste that got me.

This wine has an overwhelming smokiness that is somewhat chewy, due to the Shiraz component, but is extended into other spice components and an almost flat and clean finish by the other grapes, most notably the Merlot and the Malbec.

I would definitely say that this would be great with both game meats and sausages, or even smoked fish dishes.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
