I can't remember exactly where I picked up this wine, but I know that I mainly got it for the price, and the fact that I was turned onto ice wines two years ago. While I didn't have it chilled, as you are supposed to do, it was still a wonderful bouquet of flavors.

The first thing that I noticed was the smell, which is actually sweet, but to me a little nauseating because the smell has some mango nuances, and I actually hate mangos. However, when you taste this wine, you are definitely in for a treat, which is definitely the taste of a hearty and robust (code for raw and powerful) North American varietal. It could be the result of the sugar content of the wine, but this one has a very smooth flavor that does remind me of mango and tropical fruits, but it's silky consistency also bowls you over.

This is the perfect wine to be served with desserts or chocolate and/or for an after dinner nightcap.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
