Floral in scent with a nice full citrus aspect, this wine is a great alternative to those who only know Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc.  I myself probably only tasted no more than ten Roero Arneis wines prior to this year -- okay, it could have easily been thirty or fifty considering all of the Italian wine events that I have went to as well as my three trips to the country itself -- but only started to build an appreciation for them this year.  It was because Charles Sant'Elia invited me to a tasting of wines from Roero and I literally was flattered by what was being served.

Now Arneis starts off very floral and the gives you a nice muted citrus that finishes off not too dry.  The mouth on this is just a little silky and heavy, but not too much.  I chose to have it with some Jerk chicken and it went exceptionally well.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
