I figured that I would try something new, as well as something inexpensive, and this caught my eye. 

I would say that the smell reminds me a little of cherries but also vanilla, the latter probably due to aging in American Oak.  The taste is more of dark plums, but this wine is neither complex or heavy.  It's medium bodied and can probably be consumed by just about anyone.  There is just the slightest bit of acidity in the finish.
