Yesterday, it was funny as an associate asked me how could I discern that a wine tasted like leather, to which I replied 'wet a shoe and lick it' but really since you really taste through your nose, understanding the taste of leather really isn't that hard.  Plus, you probably gummed some leather shoes as a baby, or a leather glove/mitt later on in life.

This wine immediately gives me cherry but it quickly follows through with the taste of leather.  I wouldn't say that this wine is more refined, but would say that while the nose is pungently strong with alcohol, the flavors are not over the top and become more muted during the finish, making your tastebuds do the work to continually milk out the aspects of this wine.

Color is great and mouth is middle of the road with the slightest amount of weight to it.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
