So, I figured I'd pick up two wines when I stopped into Canal's on Route 38 in Pennsauken yesterday -- can you tell that I go there a lot -- and this was my second choice.

When I say that I am unimpressed, I do mean it.  When someone labels a wine Pinot Gris, I am looking for pears and possibly peaches and nectarines.  I am thinking about what comes out of Alsace and I am expecting it.  This wine is so muted in flavor that it more resembles a Pinot Blanc than a Pinot Gris.  The alcohol is good, but still it's not up to snuff for me.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
